Cars and Insurance
There are some people who say that you should not borrow your car to anyone. Recently, I read an article, which explained why you should never loan your car to a friend. Basically, it is very dangerous to loan your car if the person who is going to drive the car is not listed on your auto insurance policy. If he is not authorized to operate the vehicle, then in case of an accident even if you are insured you will have to bear liability and not the driver of the car. Another problem is that your insurance rates may go up. In a long term this might mean paying a lot more money. Of course, sometimes nothing will happen and it will not cost you anything, but there is a chance there will be some accident. If an accident is indeed going to happen, then it might cost you a lot. It is better to be aware of it, rather than panic when such situation occurs. Some people might say that it is not fair, but whatever is written in the contract with your insurance provider is ultimately the law. You should read the contracts carefully if you want to be aware of your rights.
