Selling on eBay

EBay is the world’s most famous online marketplace. You can buy there almost anything, and you can also be selling as many products as you want. Selling on eBay might be a good source of income for some people, but it is not that easy to start selling and make profits immediately. That is why I compiled a small list of tips to help you get started. Here they are:

1. Do not purchase anything until you are absolutely sure that you will sell it.
2. Look what sells the most: http://listings.ebay.com/aw/listings/list/featured/index.html. Featured items usually have a big potential to generate profit.
3. Have a merchant account. I think this is self-explanatory.
4. Have a sell everything approach. Make a decision that you will sell anything that is hot.
5. Sell cheap, popular, light items, preferably your own production.
6. Sell collectibles. Collectors are often the best customers.
7. Send emails to likely bidders. Make sure you actually do not spam them.
8. Your first day is important. Try to get as many bids the first day as possible. This can usually be achieved by setting a low price.
9. Advertise well by creating interesting ads. You can use photos for this purpose. Make sure your listings looks professional.
10. Think about using eBay ad options.

Failing to Monetize a Website

There are many bloggers on the blogosphere that decide that the time has come to monetize their site. While it is true in case of some of them that they actually earn their living from blogging, many do not achieve success, and do not earn a big income. I would like to present you with a few reasons why some bloggers fail, and what you can do to avoid making similar mistakes. Here are a few reasons that come to my mind:

1. Not having enough patience. Blogging definitely requires patience. You will not see money coming to your PayPal account immediately after establishing your new blog. It might even take weeks or months to see a steady income.
2. Breaking the rules of the program they applied for. Some bloggers get too excited about blog monetization that they start breaking the rules of the programs they joined.
3. Posting irregularly. It is a good idea to post on a regular basis. Some people might be having problems with that or simply go on holidays and leave their blog without updating.
4. Unrealistic expectations. Many bloggers heard about the success of others and tried in vain to repeat those achievements. Sometimes the success of a particular blog might be a matter of luck, or the amount of hours a person spent working on his or her blog.
5. Joining programs that are not the best for monetizing your site. Some bloggers that tried out a specific program do not bother to check other ones that could be a lot more profitable.

I hope that the list was useful to you and that it will help you to monetize your site.

Prove That You Are Rich

When iPhone was first released anyone who owned this device could brag about it and feel like he was really rich. This device was in a sense a status symbol, and owning it proved that you are a rich person. This has changed these days, and as more people have an iPhone there is really nothing spectacular about it. Since there are many people who want to feel rich, some of them even bought an iPhone application that costs $1000. The only purpose of it is to prove that you are rich. The application has no other purpose whatsoever, and it is interesting that almost 10 people bought it. Anyway, at some point the application got removed, so I guess that there will not be any more “lucky” people who will buy it.

Memory and Your PC

Every computer has memory. In this way the computer resembles a human being, as it was built somehow in his image. Memory is very important when it comes to the performance of a PC. Actually, every time I upgrade the components of my computer I tend to do something about the size of its memory. Bigger memory makes a computer perform more smoothly, run more complicated programs and software, and makes it generally more reliable. A bigger memory in your PC can also enhance your overall experience. This is especially the case if you use an operating system that requires a lot of RAM. Vista is an example of such an OS, so you will need at least 3GB of RAM if you want to have good performance.

Copying Website Templates

Designing a web template requires a lot of time and creativity. That is why I appreciate websites that have very nice templates. Some people and companies also like other sites templates to the degree that they are copying their design. While I understand that they might like a particular template, I do not think that this means they have the right to simply copy it. In case of not very popular websites probably nobody will notice. However, if a large company decides to do it, there might be some serious repercussions, including a court battle. Over the years, I read about such stories and it amazes me that people still think that there is no chance that they will get caught stealing unique templates. I think it is a lot better idea to use one of the free templates available, and later slightly modify it so that it suits our needs.
